Acts 13:2 (NKJV) “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.””
If you’re in a place where you are confused, lost your purpose and don’t know what God has called you to do, fasting can help clarify, unlock and reveal your purpose and calling. Here in Acts 13, the disciples were ministering to the Lord and fasting. The aftermath was the Holy Spirit spoke, and empowered Barnabas and Saul for heaven’s purpose.
If you find that God or your walk with Jesus boring, you just have interference in your connection. Nothing will clear that up better than getting into the Word, praying and fasting. Even Jesus fasted for 40 days! It definitely wasn’t easy, even Jesus faced temptation but overcame. But if you look at the time Jesus fasted in the gospels you will see one thing stand out.
Jesus didn’t fast because of a problem, He fasted because of purpose. He fasted for souls. He fasted to fulfill His Father’s assignment. He fasted for the restoration of humanity.
Let God unlock your divine sweet spot. That passion that erupts from the very depths of heaven itself. You were created to bring heaven to earth. You were designed to carry out the will of your Heavenly Father. Fasting can unlock that purpose and destroy any other obstacle that is keeping you truly impassioned to fulfill all that God has called you to fulfill.
Much love, Ps Aaron Lucas
